How to Install Calibre Plugins

1. Open Calibre → Preferences → Plugins → Get new plugins (or press Ctrl+Shift+P)
2. Search by name or browse the list — the plugins shown in the dialog are pulled from the official plugin index
3. Select a plugin and click Install. Restart Calibre when prompted.
4. Each plugin adds its own toolbar button, menu entry, or configuration panel. Check the plugin’s MobileRead thread for documentation.

For manually downloaded .zip files: Preferences → Plugins → Load plugin from file.

If a Plugin Doesn’t Work

Most problems come from Calibre version mismatches. Check the minimum Calibre version in the table above — if your Calibre is older, update it first. Some plugins also require external tools (Java for EpubCheck, Python modules for some metadata sources). The MobileRead plugin thread always lists dependencies.
